During European trading, the British pound rose against the US Dollar trading above 1.34000 levels.
The pair advanced in the European session as better than expected Retail and PMI data came out from the UK creating positive pressure for the pound sterling. In the UK, Retail Sales data for December came out higher than expected (2.5% realised vs 1.0% expected). In the US, S&P Global Services for January (52.9 exp) and S&P Global Manufacturing data for January (51.9 exp) will be released (14:45 GMT).
