German shares edged lower at 13745.43 on Thursday as the spread of the coronavirus remained the primary focus for investors. Oil and gas stocks led the losses, with the sector down nearly 1%. Germany stocks were mixed after the close as gains in the Food & Beverages, Utilities and Chemicals sectors led shares higher while losses in the Basic Resources, Industrials and Construction sectors led shares lower. At the close in Frankfurt, the GER30 declined 0.03%. The winners of the day included Deutsche Bank, up 2%, RWE AG ST, climbing, 1.69% and E ON SE, gaining 1.25%. Among the losers were BASF, down 1.85%, Daimler, falling 1.70% and Lufthansa, falling 1.04%.
