NIO Inc. (#NIO) weekly uptrend opportunity based On 1.00 Lot Calculation:
- Nio offers electric vehicles and parts, as well as provides battery charging services. It currently sells the ES8 and ES6 electric SUVs, and a new EC6 electric crossover. In early January 2021 they revealed their new sedan ET7 that will be selling in 2022. The company is headquartered in Shanghai, China.
- POSITIVE Q2 EARNINGS RESULTS: EARNINGS (BEAT): Loss 7 cents per share vs. Loss 8 cents per share exp. REVENUE (BEAT): $1.31 billion vs. $1.23 billion. EXPECTATIONS: NIO management expects third-quarter deliveries to come in at 22,500 to 23,500 vehicles. That's about 7,500 vehicles a month and in line with the company's monthly capacity. Third-quarter sales are expected to be about $1.44 billion. That's better than analyst projections of $1.38 billion.
- NEW MODELS COMING NEXT YEAR: Chief Executive Officer William Li said that Nio is preparing to launch two new models next year, including one cheaper than its current models as the cost of building an electric vehicle has gone down as volume climbed. Nio Event, when the company usually introduces new models, is expected to take place in late December 2021 or early January 2022.
- EVENT: NIO IS ENTERING NORWAY AND OTHER EUROPEAN COUNTRIES: Nio Norway’s first service and delivery center in Oslo will open in September, 2021. By the end of 2022, Nio estimates to have battery swap stations in Norway. Nio plans to enter Germany in 2022 as well.
- STOCK PRICE ACTION: NIO stock currently trades around 40% below its recent all-time high of $66.85, tested in January 2021. If a full recovery follows, the stock could increase around 66.00%.
- ANALYST OPINION: Morgan Stanley reiterated a Buy and a price target of $64 on the stock. Credit Suisse forecasts $80, while Deutsche Bank sits at $60 a share. JP Morgan targets $70 a share. Citigroup upgraded the stock to buy from neutral, targeting $70 a share. HSBC set a target price of $69 a share. Goldman Sachs set a target price of $56 a share.
