  • ELECTRIC VEHICLES (EV) MAKE ONLY AROUND 9.0% OF TOTAL CAR SALES, WORTH 66.7 MILLION CARS IN 2021: The total global car market grew just 4.5% in 2021, by around 66.7 million cars. In 2020, the world sold around 63.8 million cars. The estimates say that around 6.5 million electric vehicles (EVs) were sold worldwide in 2021, up 109% from 2020. EV sales represent around 9% of all passenger car sales in 2021. The EV sector increased its market share from 4.11% in 2021 to around 9.00% off the global car sales.

  • MARKET POTENTIAL: ELECTRIC VEHICLES (EV) ARE EXPECTED TO TAKE UP AROUND 50% OF GLOBAL CAR SALES BY 2030. The 2021 figures of 287.36 billion dollars are an increase of around 76% from 2020’s 160.01 billion dollars. Expecting this number to grow to 823.75 billion dollars, the EV market should be growing annually on average by 18.6%.

  • TESLA IS EXPECTED TO MAKE 26% OF THE GLOBAL EV MARKET BY 2025 (UP FROM 14.40% IN 2021). Revenue outlook rises from 2021’s $53.82 billion to $150.433 billion in 2025 per year (increase of 179%).

  • TESLA CAR SALES TO GROW ON AVERAGE BY 32.40% ANNUALLY BETWEEN 2021 AND 2025. Tesla delivered 936,222 vehicles in 2021, and that number is expected to jump to at least 2,802,146 in 2025.


  • EVENT: STOCK SPLIT (AUGUST 4, 2022). The shareholders are expected to meet on August 4, 2022 and approve the split. A stock split tends to have a positive impact on the stock price. After the first stock split in 2020, the stock rose 13.25% the very first day of the announcement (August 11, 2020). From August 11 to August 31 (when the split took effect), the stock went up by 61.18% to test back then a fresh all time high of $2317.98 a share.

  • EVENT: TESLA DEBT (CREDIT) RATING TO BE UPGRADED TO INVESTMENT GRADE FROM NON- INVESTMENT GRADE. Once this is confirmed by the credit rating agencies such as the S&P 500 credit rating agency, more fund managers will become eligible to buy the Tesla stock.

  • EVENT: TESLA STARTS TAKING ORDERS FOR SEMI-TRUCK: Tesla has announced that it will be taking orders for its new Semi-Truck. The truck will sell for $150,000, which is the average price for traditional semi trucks. The reservation price is $20,000. Tesla also highlighted that running costs of the truck are half of the cost of running traditional diesel trucks.

  • ANALYSTS OPINIONS: Goldman Sachs forecasts $1200 a share. Wedbush analyst Dan Ives raised Tesla’s Price Target to $1,400. Morgan Stanley forecasts $1300. Deutsche Bank forecasts $1250. Credit Suisse’s forecast is $1125 a share. Bank of America raised the Tesla Price Target from $1,100 to $1,300.
