- Tesla Inc. designs, manufactures, and sells high-performance electric vehicles and electric vehicle powertrain components. Tesla sells more than five fully electric cars, among others, the new Model Y, the Model S sedan and the Model X SUV, and the Model 3 sedan, which is among the world's top-selling electric cars.
- EVENT: NEXT QUARTERLY EARNINGS REPORT: April 26, 2021 (AFTERMARKET). The company is expected to show a stable sales growth, especially in China (Model 3s and Model Y). The company is also expected to stay bullish for 2021 when it comes to car delivery expectations.
- EVENT (April): Full Self Driving (FSD) Beta Software. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has tweeted new information about Full-Self Driving (FSD) Beta. Replying to a tweet about the current FSD Beta system, Musk said V9.0 is almost ready and that it is a significant improvement.
- (Q1 ‘21 car delivery breaks a new record): Tesla reported first-quarter vehicle production and delivery numbers for 2021. In total, it delivered 184,800 vehicles and produced 180,338 cars. Analysts were expecting Tesla to deliver around 168,000 vehicles during this period, according to estimates compiled by FactSet as of April 1. The Q1 deliveries beat Tesla’s previous record of 180,570 deliveries in Q4 2020. Tesla China has sold 35,478 units of its pure electric vehicles in March 2021. This marks an increase of 94% from February’s 18,318.
- ANALYST OPINION: Goldman Sachs forecasts $835 a share. Bank of America raises Tesla Price Target to $900 a share. Wedbush analyst Deni Ives raised Tesla Prices Target to $1,000 from $950. Deutsche Bank raised Tesla Price Target to $900. Research Company Piper Sandler Increased its Tesla Price Target to $1200 from $515. Morgan Stanley increased Tesla Price Target to $880 from $810 a share. Goldman Sachs targets $835. ARK Investment Fund (run by Cathie Wood) gives Tesla a Price Target of $3000 by 2025.
- PRICE ACTION: Tesla hit a fresh all- time high of $899.81 in January 2021. At the moment the stock trades around 20% below its all- time high.
