The GER40 represents the DAX 40 in Germany, which includes companies such as Adidas, Bayer, Mercedes-Benz, Deutsche Bank, Siemens, BMW, E.ON, etc. In essence, GER40 includes the most valuable and advanced companies in Germany, the largest economy in Europe.

GER40: EVENTS

FRIDAY, JANUARY 30 AT 7:00 GMT: GERMAN GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT (GDP) (Q4). A stronger-than-expected GDP reading would indicate solid economic growth in Germany, reflecting resilient domestic demand and robust industrial activity. Positive results could boost investor confidence and provide support for the GER40.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 30 AT 8:55 GMT: GERMAN UNEMPLOYMENT RATE (JANUARY). A decline in the unemployment rate would indicate improving labor market conditions, reflecting stronger economic activity. Such a development could support the GER40 by reinforcing optimism around Germany’s economic resilience.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 30 AT 13:00 GMT: GERMAN INFLATION (CPI) (JANUARY). A higher-than-expected CPI reading would signal persistent price pressures, highlighting robust consumer demand and underlying economic strength. Such a development could reinforce investor confidence and provide support for the GER40.
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 2 AT 8:55 GMT AND 9:00 GMT: GERMAN AND EUROPEAN MANUFACTURING PURCHASING MANAGERS INDEX DATA (PMI) (JANUARY). The manufacturing PMI readings will provide an early indication of industrial momentum at the start of the year. Stronger results would indicate improvements in manufacturing conditions in Germany and across the Eurozone, which could boost confidence in the industrial sector and support higher prices for the GER40.
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 5 AT 13:15 GMT AND 13:45 GMT: EUROPEAN CENTRAL BANK INTEREST RATE DECISION & PRESS CONFERENCE. Investors will closely watch the ECB’s decision and forward guidance, as any indication of a stable monetary policy could support economic growth in the eurozone. Such signals tend to boost investor confidence and provide potential support for the GER40.

TECHNICAL ANALYSIS:

- - - LONGER-TERM UPTREND: The black-lined uptrend channel depicted by the chart below shows that GER40 prices have maintained their uptrend in general since November 2025. However, there remains a risk of a potential breakout below this level if market conditions change.
    - GER40 REMAINS ABOVE 50-, AND 100-DAY MOVING AVERAGES: The daily graph below shows that GER40 has remained above the 50-, and 100-Day Moving Averages, indicating an ongoing uptrend. Although the trend could change if prices fall below these moving averages.
    - THE GER40 HIT AN ALL-TIME HIGH OF 25,639.50 (JANUARY 13, 2026). Since the beginning of the year, GER40 has risen around 4% to reach this all-time high price, adding to 2025’s increase of around 23%. Although prices could fall, too.
