- EVENT (WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 AT 19:00 GMT+1): US FEDERAL RESERVE INTEREST RATE CUT DECISION. PRESS CONFERENCE (19:30 GMT+1). After some weaker-than-expected employment market data in July and August, markets are expecting an almost certain interest rate cut by the FED in September, with more cuts by the end of 2025. The benchmark interest rate currently stands at 4.5%.
MARKET EXPECTATIONS (WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17): US FEDERAL RESERVE IS EXPECTED TO ANNOUNCE ITS FIRST INTEREST RATE CUT SINCE DECEMBER 2024 TO BRING DOWN RATES FROM THE CURRENT 4.50% TO AT LEAST 4.25% (Source: https://www.cmegroup.com/markets/interest-rates/cme-fedwatch-tool.html)
STATISTICS: LAST TIME WHEN AN INTEREST RATE CUT CYCLE BEGAN (SEPTEMBER 18, 2024 AND AFTER): US Federal Reserve started an interest rate cycle last time on September 18, 2024, by cutting rates from 5.50% to 5.00%. USA30 prices rose 3.46% within the first 1 month after the first interest rate cut of the cycle took place. Within the first 2 months, USA30 prices rose 3.40%. USA30 price traded up 1.74% within the first 3 months after the first cut.

COMPANY EVENTS (SEPTEMBER- OCTOBER 2025):
- META (FACEBOOK): META CONNECT A.I. EVENT (SEPTEMBER 17 – 18). Meta (Facebook) is expected to release fresh A.I. technology, showing investors that the company remains one of the leaders within the A.I. industry.
- BOEING: CHINA EXPECTED TO ORDER 500 NEW BOEING AIRCRAFTS. As part of the broader USA-China trade talks, Boeing was said to have engaged in talks with China to receive orders equal to 500 aircrafts.
- NVIDIA: NVIDIA GTC A.I. EVENT (WASHINGTON, D.C., USA) (OCTOBER 27 – 29). Nvidia has recently posted record quarterly earnings results for the second quarter, and the upcoming A.I. event should improve investors’ confidence towards innovation and new technology that could increase Nvidia sales and profits.
TECHNICAL ANALYSIS:
- WEEKLY MOVING AVERAGES: USA30 has remained above the 20-and 50-week moving averages. However, USA30 can also change its trend if prices fall below the 20-and 50-week moving averages.
- MID–TERM CHANNEL: As depicted by the daily chart below, USA30 has kept trading within the mid-term uptrend channel, confirming its mid-term trend is up. However, there remains a risk of a potential breakout below the lower channel boundary if market conditions change.
- BREAKING (SEPTEMBER 15, 2025): USA30 HIT AN ALL-TIME HIGH OF 46,304.
