EVENT (TUESDAY, JULY 29, PREMARKET): Q2 EARNINGS REPORT: PayPal is expected to print a revenue of $8.09 billion, which is around 3% higher than the previous quarter and 2.5% higher than the same quarter in the previous year. A net income of $1.23 billion is also expected. (Source: Bloomberg)

PAYPAL INTRODUCES AI ASSISTANT. PayPal has announced a new partnership with Anthropic’s AI assistant Claude. PayPal users will be able to manage their transactions, subscriptions, disputes, and financial insights through conversational commands.
PAYPAL CREATES PAYPAL OPEN. A special platform created for businesses, PayPal Open, will link companies around the world with its 400 million customers globally. Here, firms will be able to accept payments globally, optimize checkout conversion, and offer customers their favorite ways to pay. Businesses will also have access to lending and capital through this platform.
PAYPAL IS LAUNCHING A GLOBAL PLATFORM. PayPal is launching a platform called PayPal World that will enable customers with domestic digital wallets to easily transact with businesses globally. The platform will allow interoperability between local digital wallets, with initial partners including Mercado Pago, UPI, and Tenpay Global. This platform will make it easier to move money across borders, with the goal of adding additional partner wallets in the future.

PAYPAL: TECHNICAL ANALYSIS AND PRICE ACTION

UPTREND CHANNEL SINCE EARLY APRIL 2025: As depicted by the daily chart below, the PayPal stock price has kept within the mid – term blue – lined uptrend channel, confirming its mid-term trend is up. The channel has been in place since early April 2025.
DAILY MOVING AVERAGES SIGNAL UPTREND: PayPal stock price has moved above the 20-day, 50-day, and 100-day moving averages, indicating a continued uptrend. However, this trend could reverse if the prices drop below these key moving averages.
THE STOCK HIT AN ALL-TIME HIGH OF $309.50 (February 16, 2021). PayPal was last trading around $76, and if a full recovery follows to recent all-time highs, the stock price could see an upside of around 307%. However, the price could decline further.
