The company also handles manufacturing for semiconductor and integrated device companies that don't have their own manufacturing facilities. TSMC’s largest customers include NVIDIA, AMD, QUALCOMM and BROADCOM. The company stood at a strong revenue of $75.881 billion for the financial year 2022. As of 2023 data, the company produces about 10 million semiconductor wafers per year.
- TSMC DOMINATES THE GLOBAL SEMICONDUCTOR MARKET: As of August 4, 2022, reports indicate that TSMC currently holds 53% of the Global Semiconductor Market, with other Taiwanese companies holding an additional 10%. This makes TSMC the largest manufacturer of Semiconductors on the planet.
- TSMC IS SET TO OPEN COMPOUNDS IN THE US, EUROPE AND JAPAN. TSMC is set to open a US$40 billion compound in Arizona, United States in 2025. TSMC has approved a plan worth $3.8 billion to build a factory in the eastern German city of Dresden. The plant, due to open in 2027, is set to have a capacity of 40,000 300-millimeter wafers per month. Bosch, Infineon and NXP, will build the plant together with TSMC, with a total investment exceeding €10 billion. TSMC will hold 70% in the joint venture, while the other three will each hold 10%.
- NVIDIA CEO CONFIRMED THE COMPANY WILL CONTINUE TO RELY ON TSMC TO PRODUCE ITS NEXT –GENERATION CHIPS. At its earnings conference, Nvidia stated that it is "significantly expanding" production capacity to meet the rising demand for AI chips. Morgan Stanley estimated that TSMC will generate 6% of its revenue from AI-related semiconductors in 2023.
- ANALYSTS OPINIONS: Goldman Sachs has a price target of $114. Susquehanna has a price target of $135, Needham target is $115, while Morningstar targets $137. The Bloomberg Analyst Consensus has an average price target of $116.26.
- STOCK PRICE ACTION: THE STOCK HAS HAD A DOWNWARD CORRECTION OF AROUND 34.76% FROM IT’S ALL- TIME HIGH OF $145 reached in January 2022. The stock has fallen 59% to $59.43 in November 2022. TSMC was last trading around $90.15, and If a full recovery follows recent all- time highs, the stock could see an upside of around ~61%. However, the price could also decline further.
