- THE COMPANY: Virgin Galactic is developing space vehicles and building a commercial space tourism service to take private citizens into space. Virgin Galactic Holdings serves customers in the United States. Virgin Galactic is the largest publicly traded space tourism company on the market.
- CURRENT NUMBER OF RESERVATIONS: 800+. Many of them purchased at a price of $250,000, before the company decided to raise the ticket price to $450,000.
- CURRENT TICKET PRICE: $450,000.
- PROJECTED REVENUE PER FLIGHT: $2.7 million. That system currently consists of two operational vehicles: A two-pilot, six-passenger space plane named VSS Unity and a carrier aircraft known as VMS Eve.
- PROJECTED NUMBER OF FLIGHTS: 400 per year.
- PROJECTED REVENUE PER YEAR: $1.08 billion.
VIRGIN GALACTIC: EVENTS AND TIMELINE
- EVENT (EXPECTED: EARLY SEPTEMBER): THIRD COMMERCIAL SPEACEFLIGHT. Virgin Galactic Holdings Inc. aims to launch its next space tourist mission in early September, as the company aims to reach a monthly cadence of commercial spaceflights through the rest of 2023. Virgin Galactic already is briefing crews for subsequent flights in October, November and December.
- TIMELINE FOR 2023: EVERY NEXT MONTH AT LEAST ONE COMMERCIAL FLIGHT. Virgin could fly on a monthly basis afterward, although details of future missions aren't yet available
VIRGIN GALACTIC: TECHNICAL OVERVIEW (August 2022- August 2023)
- RANGE OF PRICE MOVEMENT $3- $6: VIRGIN GALACTIC HAS TESTED THE AREA AROUND $3 FIVE TIMES SINCE AUGUST 2022. In the same period, Virgin Galactic has tested the area close to and around $6 four times.
- 14- DAY RELATIVE STRENGTH INDEX: The index has been trading close to the oversold threshold of 30, suggesting that the stock price may be soon getting on a recovery path.
- THE STOCK HAS TRADED AROUND 96% BELOW ITS ALL- TIME HIGH OF $62.33 (November 4, 2021). The stock tested its lowest price ever on August 16, 2023 ($2.59).
